CDAC "A little from all, together it's more. 一人一点心,社会更温馨" by Philothea Liau

A retired English teacher runs into a mischievous group of boys in his neighbourhood. Shocked at how poor their English was, he takes it upon himself to teach them the language. By offering sweets and snacks, he convinces most of them to join his lessons at the void deck. However, he fails to win their leader, Keong, over.

A child with a troubled past, Keong initially resists the teacher’s attempts and views him with suspicion. Despite showing signs of interest in the lessons, he refuses to give in and accept the teacher’s invitation. The situation reaches a climax when he catches Keong stealing a book from the bookstore.

Singapore’s seven most illustrious directors have gathered their creative storytelling and filmmaking talents in a one-of-a-kind project celebrating Singapore’s 50th year.

7 Letters represents seven heartfelt ‘love letters’ to Singapore, capturing each of the directors’ personal and poignant connection with the place they call home. Boo Junfeng, Eric Khoo, K Rajagopal, Jack Neo, Tan Pin Pin, Royston Tan, and Kelvin Tong, all award-winning filmmakers and familiar names in Singapore’s film industry, will present an emotive anthology showcasing the lives and stories of Singaporeans.

7 Letters is fully supported by the Singapore Film Commission and has been selected as the Opening Film at the iconic Capitol Theatre in July 2015.
